    Hello dear wordpress-community!

Here’s the deal: My dad just started his own business in the IT and I told him that he is also going to need his own web site. I offered him my help and after some research I came to the conclusion that wordpress would be a good tool for building a homepage for a small sized company.

I started out with the Attitude-Theme and created a child theme via “Orbisius Child theme Creator”. Now, you must know that I don’t have any knowledge about coding at all.

I also have never built a web site before and there are some points I could use your help:

    1. Specific Questions

1.1) Frontpage: https://imgur.com/4uud64n Is there any way to remove the text “Theme von: Theme Horse Pr?sentiert von: WordPress” in the footer?

1.2) Is there any way to move the navigation bar above the image?

1.3) “Referenzen”: Is there any way to remove those listings (red square)?: https://imgur.com/KOQRX5r

    2. General Theme-Based Questions

2.1) I’m not quite sure if I like the design at this state. I would really like to let the site look a bit more like the original template: https://imgur.com/m6ZtFPd especially considering the width of the site and the positioning of the logo. I also would like to have different pictures in form of a slideshow like on the attitude template with different clickable content which link to the corresponding sites.

2.2) If you have other remarks or input for designing the site better and more apropriate, please don’t hesitate to tell me so. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I know that those are a lot of questions. But the answers I found to some of those points through the search function were already too technical, so I decided to create a new thread.

    Thank you for your inputs!

    Best regards
    Schneeglocke

    Hi Schneeglocke,

I’m not an expert but I think I can answer some of your questions.

1.1) Frontpage: https://imgur.com/4uud64n Is there any way to remove the text “Theme von: Theme Horse Pr?sentiert von: WordPress” in the footer?

For the footer, take a look at this thread…https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/remove-or-edit-info-in-footer?replies=28#post-4018588

1.2) Is there any way to move the navigation bar above the image?

This theme has two settings for the navigation bar:

    – header image with the nav bar below it
    – sliders with the nav bar above it

So, to have the nav bar above the image, you have to set up the sliders. See the documentation on how to set up the sliders at https://www.themehorse.com/theme-instruction/attitude/#slider

1.3) “Referenzen”: Is there any way to remove those listings (red square)?: https://imgur.com/KOQRX5r

These look to be widgets. Go to Appearance – Widgets and then remove the widgets from the appropriate sidebar (left?) by deleting them.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi julesjunction

Thank you very much for your advice. 1.1) worked out well, thanks for that!

1.2) So I just put the site-IDs (https://imgur.com/mjiuEJB) into “featured post/page slider” (https://imgur.com/1LKuKgm). After hitting save and going to the site, it looks like this: https://imgur.com/9zLDaBM

    Is the image too small?

1.3) My widget-site looks like this: https://imgur.com/gPx9cXO but they are still visible under “Referenzen”..

    Hi Schneeglocke,

1.1) good, glad to be of assistance.

1.2) What size are your images?

The recommended image sizes can be found here https://www.themehorse.com/theme-instruction/attitude/#recommendedimagesize

I found the height of 460px was too deep for my needs, so set my images to be 350px high before I uploaded to the media library. You can’t change the width (1400px wide/1038px narrow) but you can change the height.
Suggest you set your slider images so they all have the same px height.

1.3) Check the Attitude theme widgets as well as your child theme widgets. You might find that you don’t have the widgets added in the child theme but the default ones are still there in the Attitude theme.

1.2) I cropped the images acording to the recommended sizes, but it is still not working. I installed the plugin “Meta Slider Light” for a slideshow on the front page but I’m having different problems with that now.

1.3) I checked the attitude parent theme, but all widgets are disabled. Any other ideas how to remove those links? (To check if there are also disabled in the parent theme, I had to activate it – would there be other ways to do so?)

    Hi again,

1.2) you don’t need to install a plugin for a slideshow because the theme has one as per the slider instructions.

1.3) I can’t help you any further on this, they look like widgets to me but perhaps not.

Maybe someone else can reply or suggest you contact the theme developer for support.
