How can a user create an account and submit posts

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how I can set up a WP site to allow users to create an account, submits posts (upload images), and have a public or private page (which they can select) which will display these posts on the front end?

I’ve scoured the web, plugins, and other forums but can’t seem to find a solution.
