• Hello,

just started using your plugin for my site where I’ll be managing about 200 users per year (each year 150-200 new ones will be added) and I was wondering if it is possible to assign subgroups?

For example: I have the group ‘users’ with all the read permissions where they should be. Now I want all of the 2013 users differentiated from the 2012 ones and the coming 2014 ones. So my first idea would be a sub-group of ‘users’ called ‘2013’ and just put them there while they inherit all the permissions of the group above them.

I haven’t been able to find out if this is available in either the free or the pro version. If it’s a pro-only feature I would gladly purchase it.

    Thanks!

No, subgroups are not supported. You can accomplish the same result through multiple group memberships.

Put me down on the list as a Pro Version user requesting Sub-Groupings (Nested) so that Members of a Child Group would also belong to a Parent Group.

Handling it without nesting is not horrible if you only have a limited number of groupings, but once you get into segregating many sub-groups, having this ability would make the assignment of Posts to Groups more efficient and secure.

    Thank you!

I also bought the plugin in the mean-time to configure editing permissions and I really like it!

Websherpa is right, once you get many users, sub-grouping would be much handier. Right now I just create duplicate groups with the year attached to it, so I know what year they started using the site, but my guess it that this gets really confusing some more years in.

This is in the feature todo list.
