Having issues with Email Order Notifications for woocommerce.
Symbols and some characters are not being escaped properly, resulting in ??? or wrong characters in place of characters like hyphens, long hyphens and others.

    I’m using:
    WP 3.5
    Woocommerce v2.0.14
    “Memorable” woocommerce WooTheme, v1.0.2

I am using only slightly customised email templates, so I don’t think that’s the issue.

I’ve tried using html character codes in place of the character itself, to no avail, they get stripped and confused too.

If it may help diagnose, I noticed that when entering the word “what’s” in the “Introductory Message” section of Memorable Theme Options, it ends up printing on the site frontend as “what\s” – indicating that some codes for characters may not being escaped or converted properly throughout the main theme settings?

Although I experience this issue on another install of WooCommerce which uses the Mystile Theme, so at a guess I think the issue goes higher.

I’ve had to apply some Git mods to the woocommerce install and the site is now live so can’t go updating WC or WP to attempt simple repair – unless anyone can confirm that this issue has been addressed, then I would upgrade if it corrects it for sure.

    Anyone else experienced this issue?
