Links to other sites getting a 404 error

    Hi,

    I have links set up to other outside pages but they result in a 404 error,
    pretty sure its to do with Permalinks or something similar as it is because instead of re-direction to https://www.newsite.com it directs to
    https://mywebsite.com/mypage/www.newsite.com

    It was when I changed Perma links to Post Name as I wanted the links to be by postname for easier Google search.

    Is there a way I can keep Permalinks with PostName and also use links within text to outside sites?
