    @lemuelmas – Did you try all of the various Lightbox Effects that are bundled with NextGEN Gallery to see if one will do what you are looking for?

    As far as “captions” go, did you try the “captions” template, or if that does not show what you are looking for, did you try creating a custom template to do it.
