• I’m looking at syndicating my site in three different ways:

    1) Email subscription
    2) RSS Feed
    3) Podcast

Who out there uses these? What do you find works best?

    1) Email subscription – What plugin do you use? How do you have it configured? Do you let people sign up for subscription without being a “registered” user?

    2) RSS Feed – Do you use the feed created by WP or do you use feedburner? Which is better? What are the advantages of using feedburner?

    3) Podcast – Again, do you use the enclosure support in WP, or a separate plugin? Which is better? Is it better to include text in the podcast feed or to keep the text in a separate feed? Or does it matter?

I have an old feed from before I installed WP and I’m trying to decide if I should keep it, move to feedburner, or use the WP generated one. I’m also looking at switching servers in about 9 months and I want to make a decision that will be easiest to handle when I move servers so I don’t lose readers.

Any advice is appreciated. I would really like to go about this the right way rather than have to change things later and risk losing readers.

    Thanks!

  • Short answers:

    1) I use feedblitz.com. I have exactly 4 people subscribed that way. ?? Feedburner has some integration or options these days.

    2) I use feedburner, mainly to offload the traffic from my own hosting.

    3) No clue. Podcasting just didn’t “stick” with me. I heard PodPress mentioned a lot.
