wordpress admin menu keeps loading, does not finish

  • I have a problem with wordpress: my admin menu keeps loading to infinity in almost every menu, most specially on the posts. I have to refresh dozens of times just to keep posting.

    I tried to disable plugins, reinstall theme, nothing. I tried reseting browser’s cahche , used FF and Chrome, but nothing.

    Site seems to work fine, tested it with pingdom, and seems ok..

    i have contacted my host, and they say it is ok on their end, and sugest the problem is somehow from me.

    Please help.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    What version of WordPress are you using?

    i will test disable all the plugins in the week-end (night). in the meantime some additional info:

    i keep getting

    Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.

    And on a computer from my workplace, there seemed to be no problem, even though it was working a bit slow.

    There is no magic bullet in these situations. This is just the start of basic troubleshooting and is a process of elimination deliberately designed to locate the root cause as quickly as possible by first removing the most obvious and common culprits via a series of (often) temporary steps.
