Woocommerce Local Pickup/Shipping methods

Currently when I have both Flat Rate and Local Pickup as options for shipping the system will allow the customer to pick one, but the drop down then returns to the default choice. Example; the default is “Flat Rate” customer chooses “local pickup” and the price adjusts correctly but the drop down still shows “Flat Rate”
I have looked everywhere for an answer to this, even broke the site once. Any ideas on how to make the selected drop down stay selected? (it does the same thing when I use the radio buttons
