Hey,some specific style.css changes dont apply.

I made a change in the sidebars (removed right.png pic) and after that no matter what i did, these changes reamained the same. I even deleted and installed the theme again, but still the previous changes are saved or something.

Btw i already tried clearing my cache and inserting custom css through some plugins that are available.

Thats the first time im having this issue with themes, any ideas?

  • That’s usually because either your CSS isn’t “specific” enough to override existing CSS or because you have a syntax error that’s rendering the CSS invalid.

No way to say without seeing the actual site.

But deleting the theme and then installing it again, should have fixed this, right?

Where did you make your changes?

BTW, do you have any caching on your site? That could cause that too.

The changes were made in style.css.

No i dont have any caching… But perhaps the problem is relevant to caching, its like the theme is saved on other files-folders etc. Just deleting theme files on content folder, doesnt fix the problem.

If i check my website with firebug i can see the old code and not the latest install code.

Have you cleared your browser cache?

Theme options and settings are stored in the database – so if that’s what you’ve changed, they may still be there.

Yes i have cleared my browser cache.

Except the specific code part, the theme options were the same, even after the reinstall. So these two are stored somewhere else? anyway to delete them-update them?

A link to your site and more specifics would make this a more useful discussion :)! As is, I’m not even sure what you’re looking at.

Having the original theme with the original css appearing on my website.

Like i said i already deleted and installed again the theme.

Any other things i can try?

Are you using the most current version of the theme? There were some changes related to the way CSS works in that theme – but I’m not familiar with it in detail. I expect Alexander will chime in here when he gets a minute.

Yes i have the latest version.

Btw i just noticed that even if i delete the content of style.css. The theme still appears like nothing happened at all.

Btw the first time i installed the theme and made changes etc,i used the old version. Maybe thats relevant,im dont know…

Sounds like caching to me. Have you tried a different browser entirely? Where is your site hosted?

What plugins do you have active?

    (@nick25)

Yes i tried google chrome to check how my website is appearing there. I already contact my host to check if they can do anything to help.

And i have tried it by deactivating all my plugins, but no luck…
