Paypal Donations v1.8.1 checkout issues

My Papal Donations plugin continuously appears to stop communicating with the paypal server. When the Donate button is clicked it pings the paypal server, but nothing more happens. The page doesn’t change and the person remains on the original page and is not re-directed.

Deactivating and reactivating the plug-in generally solves the problem for a few minutes to a few hours before it crashes again.

No error message is ever received, the page simply doesn’t redirect after it initially says it’s contacting PayPal.

Any thoughts/help? December is not a good month to have a disabled checkout….
