Create new directory?? Please help:)

I am TOTALLY new to wordpress & do not have much of a clue to what I am doing. I downloaded a vertical scroll plug in and to add media, I should add it here: wp-content/plugins/vertical-scroll-image-slideshow-gallery/VSslideshow/. The media automatically downloads to wp-content/uploads/2013/12/. How do I add a new directory? I know VERY little about wordpress. Any help greatly appreciated… This is frustrating!
