• What will happen to my database if I disable/uninstall this plugin? It does so much to change the post type structure, etc. that I’m a little nervous about it. But not having the capability of scheduling posts is NOT an option, especially at this time of year, so I really need to just get rid of this plugin until that problem is resolved (and even just to confirm for sure that this is what’s causing the issue).

  • If you can, you might want to try updating to v0.8 and see if that solves the scheduling problem.

Also, what sort of plugins and theme are you currently using? There might be some issue with a plugin or theme that’s causing the Schedule button to disappear.

As for deactivating it, there shouldn’t be any serious issue. I would recommend moving posts that are currently a custom status to a non-custom status (“Draft”, “Pending Review”, “Published”, etc) which would is likely the only major issue that could occur if you deactivate it (even then there probably won’t be much of an issue, if at all).

There shouldn’t be any other issues, you’ll just lose things like the Editorial Comments and Editorial Metadata, user groups, etc, but if that’s not a problem then you should be good to go!

Thanks, and sorry for the trouble!

    Hi,
I have the same sort of problem. I need to deactivate edit flow plugin.

But when I disable it, all my other posts, with personnalized status made in edit flow, are lost.

The problem I noticed is that the default draft status is not active when edit flow is active !

So when I move a personnalized status post to the default draft category, and then disable the edit flow plugin, I can’t find it any more.

I need to open all of them, then disable plugin, and then copy/paste all the contents in a new draft which I save in the basic wordpress draft status.

For a few posts it could be ok, but I have more than 100 draft posts in 4 differents edit flow personnalized post status.

Is there any solution please ?

    Thank you !

Hrm. @pouaaa you’re saying that there is no status “Draft” when you have Edit Flow active?

If that’s the case, can you create a custom status “Draft”? If so, what happens if you create that status then move all the posts to it and deactivate the plugin? Does that work?

@pouaa @a2jc4life I’ve created the following ticket in GitHub to see if this issue can be resolved in an easier and more programatic way https://github.com/Automattic/Edit-Flow/issues/230

Sorry for the trouble! If the above steps fail to work I’ll see if I can work on another way to fix this.

    Thanks,
    CJ

Yhank you for your quick answer.

I have a default draft status in Edit flow when it is active, but it is a personnalized status.
