Can't display Search Box nor sort according to category

    have lost hour upon hour of sleep trying to work this thing out as a newbie.CAN ANYONE HELP?

    I have 4 different types of event categories within the EventsManager Plugin on WordPress
    The events are as follows: Classes, Club Nights, Festivals, and Holidays

    I’d like them all to appear on different pages on my site.
    I would like them to be sorted on each page by month. And I’d like a search box

    Now, I’ve spent all evening investigating shortcodes and realised that I can do this by inserting [event_search_form] and I can get the category I want on a page by inserting something like [events_list category=”Festivals & Congresses”]

    It all looked great on a preview of the changes, but when I saved and visited my site, there was no sign of the search box nor the pretty table that I’d just seen.

    Can anyone help me? I’m just a beginner so please keep it simple.
