  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hi KaiH,

I have the same problem. Still can’t find the reason.
What caching plugin do you have?

    Have you found the solution?

    No, not yet.
I upgraded php to 5.5 and it got a bit better.
I tried SuperCache and no Cache.
    But it didn’t Change anything.

BTW: it’s a CentOS 6.4 System using the newest released kernel and Apache.

    Best regards.

Downgraded to previous WP version. It didn’t get better ??
Still looking for the reason. If not forget, I’ll let you know.

P.S. I’m using Super Cache. Also tried W3 Total Cache, but didn’t help.

I’m having the same issue on all my sites, I have a vps with many sites and it crashes almost every day with processes eating up the cpu

    Hi Kai,

You may want to take a look in your php logs, since one of your plugins could be not compatible with WordPress 3.8. Usually you should be able to see any errors coming from your plugins on there.

The error could be due to themes as well.
