Blank Admin Screen after 3.8 update

    When the 3.8 update came out for WordPress, I installed it. Ever since, I have been directed to a blank admin page after logging in. If I go to the link of my website, it’s still up and running and allows me to see the top bar as if I’m signed in, but when I click anything on it, the white blank page comes back up.

    I’m not super experienced with the technical aspect of wordpress, but are there any solutions for me? Is it just the new update or what? Any help is much appreciated!

  • That sounds to me like a plugin is erroring when you try and go to the dashboard. What you need to do is disable all plugins and then see if you can get the dashboard up. I doubt it is the 3.8 release itself as this would have been pretty fundamental.

    Of course if you cannot get to the dashboard how do you turn off all the plugins? There is an article here which may help.

    One suggestion I would make is to rename the plugins folder to something like plugins_old and create a new plugins folder.

    If you can then get to the dashboard, you could copy one plugin at at time from plugins_old to the plugins folder to see which one is causing the issue.

    Thank you so much for your response, it actually worked. The mobile view plug-in was making me unable to to load the admin page. Now that it’s removed, I’m able to use my site again. Thanks again ??
