    Greetings,

I was having trouble adding media to a church website without having to use html tags to make it so. I have other church members faced with a learning curve I take for granted and the thought of overwhelming them with tags and such is frightful to say the least. I trouble shot the issue and discovered the plugin “Advanced Dewplayer” has to be deactivated for the add media option to work. I really like Dewplayer in the simple fact it works well and I can throw me files in one directory and it sorts out the mess then displays without much effort on my part.

Does anyone know a work around and or a player plugin like dewplayer?
I would like to keep the theme (Responsive) as well since much access is done with smaller screen size devices.

    many thanks,

    Jerry

  • Where did you download this plugin from?

Version 1.2 By Western Deal from the WordPress add plugin page.
Website it points to is https://www.westerndeal.com

That plugin hasn’t been updated in over 5 years! No wonder it’s been causing you problems. You’re just lucky it didn’t bring the whole site down. Try browsing through some of the more recent player plugins at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search.php?q=mp3

Problem resolved. I deactivated Advance Dewplayer and installed HTML5 MP3 Playlist Player Free. This player works with both smartphone usage as well as pc browsers. It requires more effort on my part…forcing me to create play lists and doesn’t seem to re-size when accessing with smartphone, but it works. thank you esmi, you have been very helpful.
