Wondering why this question was closed because it was a good topic and I am yet another person who very much needs multiple uploads functions.

The why don’t you open up your own topic instead of jumping on someone elses? ??

That topic was not yours and everyone jumping on the topic that way really is pointless. Per the forum welcome please post your own topic.
That’s a pretty silly suggestion since people were already talking about it, even fairly recently. Grow up and stop acting like a child when you respond to people
Threads are closed automatically after a year – which is a reasonable amount of time for people to reply and provide a solution.
You aren’t understanding the point. People were already there, already asking the same question, as recently as FOUR weeks ago!
Why close the question just to fill the forums with the same question yet again? You actually think that’s efficient??? Give me a break, it makes NO sense what so ever to close a question where people are still asking for input.
I think moderators let it go to their head and get a little overly silly about their task. The idea is to allow the flow of information, not cry about things which aren’t really an issue causing a problem.
Man, the internet is filling up with stupidity these days.
Even better, here’s a place to directly submit suggestions to NGG:

@voopress: To specifically answer your question:
Threads are auto-closed after 1 year from the date of the first posting. The fact that people replied within the last 4 weeks doesn’t matter, it’s 1 year after thread creation. The thread was automatically closed, nobody did it personally.
These support forums are designed, mainly, to attempt to assist people having specific issues. The way it is intended to work is that somebody posts a problem, and other people post solutions or information or replies intended to solve that problem.
Sometimes, the problems are generic ones, or something to that effect. In these cases, the threads often get filled with “me too” type of responses. And while those may indicate interest in the problem, they are rarely helpful to the original poster. Considering also that generally people have the “notify me” box checked when submitting, then that means each response is actually emailing the original poster, essentially with useless information to them.
In order to keep the threads on topic and useful to the people with problems, we ask that people with issues start their own threads instead of responding to other people’s threads. This focuses the attention on solving the problem for that specific person. It also lets there be a simple gauge on the number of people having the problem, simply by the number of threads. You may see this as “inefficient”, but it’s that way for a reason.
Also because of this, threads are closed after a year. If the problem isn’t solved by then, it’s unlikely to be solved.
If you wish to have discussion on a topic, then that is fine. However, start your own thread for it instead of posting the equivalent of a “me too” response to somebody else who may not be interested in having your subsequent discussion emailed to them.
With regard to your other deleted threads, re-posting the same thing over and over is not acceptable behavior. They were deleted because they were duplicates and because they were simply pointing back at an already closed discussion.
I’ve reinstated a few of the posts in this thread, and re-opened the thread if you want to continue to discuss this matter with me. However, it is always a good idea, on any forum, to not behave in ways that make people want to ignore or block you. Reasonable discussion is always welcome here. Outbursts and name-calling and other anti-social behavior is not.
I see that you’ve re-opened this post which is nice, it means I can at least have my say without being edited for display.
However, there are other posts which seem to be missing, especially the one where someone else is insulting me. I don’t recall insulting anyone but making a general comment about the state of things on the internet these days.

//At the end of every post, there is the option to add or remove yourself from a post. That’s what I’ve been doing for years. I keep the notices coming if I am interested or I remove myself if I am no longer interested.
Many times, it takes a very long time to find a solution so being able to stay on a post is favorable. The ‘me too’ posts simply mean many others are interested in the same solution so having each of them post only to find another similar number of posts seems very pointless.

\\So, you end up with that many more useless posts on your site because none of them are answered. How does this logic make any sense? When I search for solutions on this site, I come across MANY more dead ends than I do even one lead thanks to tons of dead useless posts. It is the nature of forums but having certain rules which help that to happen don’t make things better.
When someone adds to an old post, everyone subscribed to that post is notified and sometimes, someone will respond and say here’s the fix or here’s how I did it or it was never resolved and everyone now knows the answer.//
Also because of this, threads are closed after a year. If the problem isn’t solved by then, it’s unlikely to be solved.
\\That is absolutely also true. However, it also depends on the type of question.

\\If you mean the heated moment where you started editing only certain posts out of the thread, yes, I kept hitting ‘post’ because I was frustrated that you would not let me respond. I can’t think of anyone who would not have been frustrated with the situation.

\\The only ones who didn’t want to read what I had to say was the moderator because I was and still am making valid points. I understand forums, I’ve been using them since the 90’s so it’s not new to me. What is new is how quickly moderators try to squash users with legitimate feedback and how they actually ban them for next to nothing.
After this incident, I waited and figured fine, I’ll just be nice and re-post my question as requested. The moment I did, it was deleted by a moderator and my account was BANNED!
Come on, don’t you think that’s overkill and most insulting to the person? You imply that I was name calling but if you re-posted all of the thread and re-read it, you would see that I was responding to the person who made a snide comment to me and was frustrated by the moderator who started pulling parts of the thread at the same time.
I never once stooped to childish levels because I wasn’t looking for a fight, I was looking to express my views on something.
Getting banned for this was way overkill but I’m glad to see I can gain access again.
Anyhow, we can go on and on but what’s the point.
All I ask is that you understand that everyone using WP is part of the community. It’s not YOUR community, it is everyone who makes up the user base on WP that is the community. If someone is all out going nuts and being a child, sure, boot them but be a little gentler on those who you are antagonizing to begin with and they are just trying to retort with their input and feedback. Sometimes, it takes a little arguing to find good answers unfortunately. So long as those arguments don’t turn to garbage, no one should be edited.
Anyhow, back to business as usual I hope. Thanks for your input.
@voopress: The posts where you called people names and where other people responded will remain deleted. They are not appropriate for this forum.
Additionally, I’ve examined all your past posts too. You have a pattern of this sort of thing. Very aggressive tones, very confrontational stances. This is a support forum. You don’t need to call people names in order to get your point across.
And while you’re welcome to disagree with the rules and policies of the forum, you are not free to break those rules or policies just because you want to do so. I understand that you don’t like the policy of new threads and closing old posts. That’s fine, but you will still abide by those policies.
Furthermore, reposting something after the post or thread has been deleted is what got you blocked, and rightfully so. Attempting to bypass the moderators through any means will get you banned, simple as that. Blocking somebody prevents them from continuing to repeat themselves. Once somebody’s behavior has hit the stage of multiple angry thread reposts, then yes, banning the account is the correct action.
Just remember that you’re a guest here. If you behave as such, then everybody will get along just fine. Despite your protestations, this is indeed “our” community. We will continue to moderate it to maintain order, civility, and to try to help as many people as possible. I won’t unblock you a second time.
Excuse me, I never called anyone names, I did say that things are becoming pretty silly in forums these days and that there are some who are abusing their moderator powers.
And yes, I certainly do get tired of the nonsense which is why I have become somewhat confrontational over the years. It’s tiring to see things change for the worse. However, you should keep looking because I equally say a lot of positive things so pointing out only negatives isn’t a great example :).
>Furthermore, reposting something after the post or thread
>has been deleted is what got you blocked, and rightfully
>so. Attempting to bypass the moderators through any means
>will get you banned, simple as that. There was no bypassing, there was only abiding by the rules you insisted on. You said start your own post and that’s exactly what I did. Why in the world would you see that as bypassing anything, I don’t have a clue.
>I won’t unblock you a second time.
Oh please, this is the internet. Anyone can use as many IP’s and names as they need/want to gain access to anything.
This is not a game and I’m not trying to get the last word as this will be it for my responding to this. I agree that it is the www.ads-software.com site and their rules, obviously, that’s not an issue.
I don’t have a problem with policies, I have a problem with overbearing moderators overstepping their boundaries when they could instead be more civil just as much as the person they are trying to shunt.
I’m done, moving on, assuming you’ll drop this now that we’ve both said our piece, which, I appreciate.
@voopress, just an OT advice:
for quotes, you can use “b-quote” button ??I guess one thing I’ve not stayed in touch with even with lots of years of posting are some of the options.
Thanks very much, I’ll check that out ??
