Auto Select Images

Every-time I upload anything to the Media section of WordPress this gallery plugin auto selects it and adds it to the gallery. I have to go back in and un-check all the photos that I uploaded to the media section (for other pages) that I don’t want in the gallery. Can i change this setting so it will not auto select every image I upload?
