Hi! I want to turn the static menu of my current theme into a custom one with dropdowns. I’ve managed to add custom menu support to my wordpress theme, but if i then replace the old menu with my custom one in header.php, the result looks horrible cause there’s no styling

Is there any way to take the styling from the old menu and apply it to the custom one, so that i get exactly the same menu as before, but now with dropdown options?

    thanks for your time! daniel

This is what happens when i replace the theme’s navigation with my custom menu and use the same styling:

Instead of getting a nice dropdown menu, it creates a menu button for each page. I tried dropping my custom navigation menu into a widget and the same thing happened, all pages are listed without any hierarchy or sub-categories
