Distinctive Portfolio plugin/featured image caption

my main issue is that i want the featured image to display its caption. i’ve scoured the web and found a million different workarounds to make this happen but none have worked on my site. i’m quite certain that it has something to do with the plugin I’m using called Distinctive Portfolio, which also uses PrettyPhoto. i’ve written to the support forum over there multiple times but the developer is not answering me so i thought i’d try here.

if you go to portfolio and then to the first project called “Wayland” when you click to open the lightbox, the first image (which in the backend is the featured image) should have a caption.
