Uploading multiple images problem WP Photo Album Plus

I am having issues uploading more than one single image at a time, multiple upload does not function, I choose the files, they appear in selected files, click upload multiple files, the page loads, once it is completed the page returns to the usual upload page, no message saying images have been added, check album, the images have not been uploaded.
I tried uploading a zip folder, same thing happens as above, I check the import folder there is nothing to import appearing.
I am only able to upload using single uploader, if I select more than one image, the same thing as above happens, I have to add one image, upload, etc only then are any images added to the album.
I have attempted to use Firefox and Safari on a mac, tried using a windows machine on safari, same issues. All software updates have been done so browsers should be most modern versions.
I have hundreds of images to add to albums so one at a time is not a viable option.
Would love to know if anyone else has had this issue and how they resolved it?
