Inserting picture problem

  • I’ve been trying to get a post up all morning and afternoon. Everytime I try to add a picture to the media library, it gives me an “HTTP Error”. Then when I refresh the page, and look in the library, the picture appears 3 or 4 different times. When I go to insert it into my post, it doesn’t show up at all. Not as a picture or a broken link, it literally just highlights a space (as if I hit the space bar) blue… I’m getting SO frustrated. I tried disabling and enabling all of my plugins and it did nothing, I tried changing themes, did nothing.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    I did all of the above… nothing helped. I just checked and there was a new update for 3.8, so I updated, and it also did nothing… I’m so stressed ??

    Have you asked your hosts about this? It may be an issue with mod_security at their end.

    Do you have access to your web server’s error log file? When you get that error code then your host should be able to tell you what is tossing that error. As Esmi said it looks like it may be mod_security interfering with your upload.

    If you do not have access to that file then your web host is going to have to assist you to determine why you are getting that message.

    If you mean the site that is in your profile then I see what you mean. But you may have problems getting host support: that looks like a free web host. If that’s the case then there’s not much to be done.

    If it’s not a free host then you really want to get a hold of them (the host) and ask them what’s going on.
