Can't set "media file" as default image link for galleries.

  • I run a multi user blog, and its been a long running issue that “attachment page” is the default option when making a gallery rather than “media file”. Its been hard to enforce that users set “media file” and i have no choice at this point but to find a solution that makes it the default or only option.

    I’ve tried many options but those options only influence single images not galleries.

    i’ve changed the setting in options.php, added filters into my themes functions.php, and none of them work for galleries.

    Is there any way to make this the default for galleries or is it possible to remove the menu option entirely?
