• Introduction
I am using a script installed by my server-provider for installing WP sites. The script is from Softaculous and enables to easily install almost kind of website. Very handy!
Normally very soon after an update of either WordPress or an installed plugin I receive a notice from Softaculous that a particular update is available. Next I can see what has changed and if I wish to do so I can implement the update. A question of 10 seconds or so.
This morning I got a message from WordPress!!! that they had updated automatically my WP version 3.8 to 3.8.1
Particularly frustrating was the fact that this website was a Woothemes webshop.
Fortunately everything seem to work properly still. However I did notice on this forum that several people do report problems up to not being able to login .
I just completed this webshop yesterday and activated the auto backup facility and dit not make a backup for this reason. If I had encountered the same problem of not be able to login, all my work could have been in vain!
Also if there could easily have been a conflict with the WooCommerce plugin or the Woothemes theme Wootique I am using. All with the same negative result!
An auto-upgrade of WordPress itself should not be standard. Since I am installing WP using the Softaculous script I do not know how to switch this facility off.
    Please advise.
