• Hello,

I’m starting a new project and I’m thinking about the possibility to run Multisite. I found lot of info out there but still confused, so I will tell you which functions my new site will need and I hope anyone could give me some advices about running or not WordPress Multisite.

This site is like a container of solutions for companies, so you go there and find difference services like web design, branding, decoration for working spaces, marketing… The site connect people who offers services with companies that looks for these services. Both, people who offer services and people who look for them, will have a personal profile. Is very similar to Envato Market Place, one side people who design themes, plugins, bla bla bla… and the other clients who buy products.

I saw some plugins I can use to customize user account but in a really poor way (just about style, no new functionalities) in comparison with all possibilities you have in Envato, I mean, a client for example need have an account with different pages, for product download, account settings, favorites products… so, is it better to make Multisite to get this configuration?

All clients should be able to buy products in the Woocommerce shop of the main place (other than services you can buy some stuff too). Then… I need clients account connected to the shop in any way.

With WPMsite each person who offer a service should have like a sub WP installation? They need a page to present the service they offer, and maybe other pages with info about contact… not necessary to have a blog (I read if each user need a blog then clearly you need Multisite but here its not necessary).

And more less, the same for clients, a profile (public or private), account stuff…

And in the end, you can be a client and offer services too (like Envato again). So maybe the best is configure my site in Multisite, and each single subWP predesigned with all pages you can need as a client plus “author” (who offer services) and then you will active pages you need depending the kind of user you want to be.

Not necessary now but maybe in near future I would like to create communities and foros too, so I need to use a theme compatible with Buddypress (and WC and WMST and all plugins) and of course the Buddypress profile should appears mixed in the same page with WC and WP…

Well, so do you think I need a multisite? or just a professional developer? hihi
Thanks a lot to everyone in advance for your advices!
