Updating a theme manually

  • Hello:

    I want to update my WP Expound theme manually. My plan is to overwrite the contents of /public_html/wp/wp-content/themes/expound.1.8/expound. I also have a child directory which I am planning to leave untouched.

    There is a newer version of the theme (1.9) available but it’s not showing up as available in my Network Admin themes section.

    Will this go well for me? I don’t want to bring down my site.
