Contact form 7 and PHP 5.4 – not working?

My hosting provider (Bluehost) told me today: Contact Form 7 is one of the WordPress plugins that are incompatible with the new PHP version 5.4.
Is that correct? Is there a fix for that?
I have Contact Form 7 (Version 3.6) installed and keep getting the error msg: “Failed to send message.” (red border)
I investigated the other suggested fixes and have not been able to resolve this on my own. Please advice. Thanks.
