Art Dealer seeks advice: Multiple photo/text options needed.

Hi –
Trying to be concise. So I’ll number this post:
1. I’m an art dealer building a new site; and have hit a wall. If I understood coding I would probably be able to work it out myself, but coding is beyond me right now.
2. I’ve been trying to decide what image/text display themes/plugins to use. I’ll be using them to handle about 20 gallery pages, with a total of about 400 thumbnails. Most of the thumbnails lead to one unique work of art.
3. I like a lot of things about “Nextgen Gallery” but it doesn’t allow me to do the most important function in my site:
==Link every thumbnail in every gallery to a unique attachment page
==Then link every attachment page to a much larger photo.
4. WP standard gallery CAN do this, but its display options are less attractive to buyers. And Nextgen has other appealing qualities.
5. I’ve tried several other plugins; but it’s all gotten a bit to confusing for me.
5. I’ve experimented with adding a link in each thumbnail’s caption to take people to descriptive text, but customers don’t like to go to 2 different places to see both text and a large picture.
6. Finally, I have other thumbnails on each gallery page that I need to link, not to images or description, but to such things as a. videos b. other websites c. anchored pargagraphs in other posts, etc.
