Hm. I don’t have access to a Windows machine with IE. If you (or anyone else) could give me a little better description of what’s not working, I can try to help. Otherwise, my hands are tied…

Hi, thanks for getting back to me

Basically they open the chat window and type in their message, and then the chat loads for ages – I’m not getting a notification that they’re here on the admin side. Only if they refresh the page do the messages come through.
Ditto for my replies, they are not getting them unless they hit “Refresh”. Like I said, only in IE – chat works beautifully in Chrome Firefox, etc.

I know… how people can still use IE is a mystery to me too ?? ?? but many of my clients still do…

    Thanks a lot!

I’m going to have a look on a Windows machine at work tomorrow.

I sat at my computer today (a Mac) while testing the plug-in because I want to make chat support available for my startup soon. A coworker had a recent version of IE on her computer (Windows). So I opened the chat on both machines (to see how multiple chats are handled). Here’s how it went for me:

In terms of Safari, no problem. Every message was sent and received and responded to just find.

In terms of IE, problem. For me, the first message I sent from the IE browser went through. I then responded from the backend on my Mac and noticed that my reply never turned up on the IE browser even though it said it went through from the back end. So I sent a second message from the IE machine and it just showed the loading dots as if it was trying to send, but not able. No message showed up on the back end. I then sent a second reply from the back end and again, nothing showed up from the IE browser even though, from the back end perspective the message went through.

This could be a problem, obviously, as from the clients perspective the IT support is simply ignoring their request for help. From the support perspective, they’ve offered help and not received a response in reply. Let me know if you solve this glitch. Thanks.

Thanks for the detailed description. I’ve had an emergency to deal with the past week, but I’m getting back on track. I will solve this for you soon. Thanks for understanding.

I’ve looked into this in IE9 and Chrome on Vista and everything is fine.

I do, of course, believe you that its not working. I’m not sure what to do at this point.

Would you be able to screenshot any errors that appear in the Developer console?
