Show blog categories on external separate WP installs?

    Hello
    I’m trying to set up a single blog to work for 3 websites. My thoughts are to use categories to separate the posts within the blog then call the different categories to show on a “blog page” in each website.

    Each website already exists as a separate WP installation on the same server and the hope is to set up 1 single blog to avoid the difficulties of running 3 separate blogs by the same person.

    Any thoughts on how to accomplish this? Plugins perhaps? Some very old posts I found suggested using rss feeds but all the blog posts they linked to for the how-to no longer exist. (reeeeeally old posts!)

    example of desired setup:
    Website1.com (blog is also hosted here)
    calls in & displays all posts categorized as “1” on a page titled “blog 1”
    website2.com
    calls in & displays all posts categorized as “2” on a page titled “blog 2”
    PersonalSite.com
    calls in & displays all posts categorized as “personal” on a page titled “blog 3”

    Has anyone tried doing something like this before? Do you know of any plugins that might facilitate this or perhaps come across a blog post or article. I could really, really use some help locating a starting point for making this happen.
