WordPress site seems to be completely gone

  • Hi – I was recently experimenting with some new themes for our wordpress.com blog site and after being off of it for a few weeks, I cannot open the site or log in any more. None of my colleagues can do so either and have tried from multiple computers and locations.

    When I try to open the WordPress site in multiple browsers (chrome, Firefox, Safari) I get just get error messages saying the site won’t open because the server isn’t responding etc.

    When I try to log in to admin I get this message:

    Invalid E-mail or Username (trying to reset or find lost passwords doesn’t work, it says my username doesn’t even exist in the system – even though I was using it to log on just a few weeks ago) – this has been the case for all site admins I work with.

    I don’t know what happened, but I recently tried changing to a new theme, which seems to be the likely problem – who knows? I’ve looked up all sorts of solutions online, but short of reinstalling or getting an IT tech expert to do some backend noodling I can’t get access.

    Any idea what’s going on?

    Other than a bug with the theme is it possible our wordpress site subscription has expired?

    Hi,

    Try to reset the theme to default and deactivate all plugin. You can do that by accessing phpmyadmin:
    Disable all plugin

    UPDATE wp_options SET option_value = 'a:0:{}' WHERE option_name = 'active_plugins';

    Back to default theme:
