WooCommerce update: Adding a variable product to cart fails

    Hi Derek,

    I just updated to WooCommerce 2.1.0 today and I am having a serious problem right now. Adding a variable product to cart fails. Many users are writing about it (see also: gitgub or official develop.woothemes.com website).

    Variable products won’t add to cart

Because some themes still bundle old files for the add to cart template being used for variable products, adding a variable product to cart fails. This should be solved by the theme developers by updating the template file.

A quick solution is to delete this file from your theme directory:

/woocommerce/single-product/add-to-cart/variable.php
This will make WooCommerce use the new bundled template file and your variable products will add to cart again. Once your theme developer updates your theme, please check if it actually works as that will overwrite this change again.

  • After updating to WooCommerce 2.1 I also had this problem. I was forced to disable your plugin due to this bug.

    I’m having the same problem and have also had to disable the plugin until it’s resolved.

    Hi guys, I was unaware this was causing these issues until Chris reached out on our website.. It is far too much for me to keep up with all of these websites so we try to stick to just support via our site whenever possible.

    Anyways I may have an update for you all but I need some beta testers. If you can go to https://www.designloud.com and shoot me a quick email I can send you a new version and you can let me know if that fixes it so that I can release for everyone else..

    I have tested with the Twenty Fourteen theme and latest version of Woocommerce and it seems to work but I just want to make sure before sending it to WP.
