I’m new to this. Very new. And I’m struggling a bit here and there. So please forgive me for any missteps.

I AM using a purchased theme that utilizes the lightbox-url custom field. But I don’t think that my issue is related to the theme so I’m hopeful that the forum will consider my questions anyway.

The custom field used to be available on portfolio pages. I’ve struggled with the site and have reinstalled WP several times. Now that I have everything working more smoothly, I’ve noticed that the lightbox-url field is no longer available. But there is one that wasn’t there before called tz_image_lightbox.

I don’t know if this may related to one of the WP updates (3.8 and now 3.8.1), or perhaps one of the plugins that I downloaded from this site.

I was looking for ways to include galleries and such so I tried a couple of those plugins. I can’t find any information about re-enabling lightbox-url or what the tz_image_lighbox field does. BTW: none of the gallery plugins worked for me and, in fact, made it so the site wouldn’t load. I’ve disabled and removed all such plugins.

I’m sorry but as you appear to be using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial products here.

Thanks. Like I said, I’m new to this. Consequently, I am not savvy enough to know when something is related to a theme (commercial or otherwise), WordPress in general, or one of the plugins that, as I said, were downloaded from www.ads-software.com.

I do want to point out that I did read the Welcome Post regarding rules and commercial products. Under “The Bad Stuff” it says, “Ask for help regarding premium themes/plugins. We do NOT support premium themes as you paid for their support when you bought it and it is not our place to keep shady vendors in business. If someone wants to help, that is fine.”

Though this statement is under the subheading, “AKA what not to do” it does also imply that it is ok to ask since it’s apparently fine for someone to help if they want to. Obviously they wouldn’t be able to decide whether they want to unless I asked the question.

All that said, I activated a non-commercial theme and, low and behold, lightbox-url still wasn’t in the list. Huh. Turns out all you have to do is type it in and add it. Well that sure was an easy answer to a non-problem that had nothing to do with the theme source and everything to do with my inexperience.
