Gift Cards Can Be Used Multiple Times Before Order is Completed

  • I’m finding that a gift card can be used multiple times before the order is completed. From my understanding, the gift card balance is only depleted after the order has been marked as complete within the Woocommerce admin area.

    Let’s say customer A buys item B and checks out. They then decide that want to go back to the store and buy item C. They attempt to use the same gift card and it goes through, in effect giving them a double discount.

    How do we prevent this if such an event occurs before the shop owner has time to manually login and mark the order as complete?

    Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you I have been busy with an update. I will try to test this out shortly but I have not seen this kind of issue before.
