    Hi Blender50,
Looks like the &reg is being escaped to the registered (circle r) symbol. Then when you save again, the code is not happy with the registered symbol.

Thanks for the good problem description and for providing the before and after url’s. I’ll take a look at the code and see what’s going on.

    Hi Blender50,
the issue has been resolved in the new version of SP. Please update to version 1.30+ and give it a try.

Here is a link to your feed working on the SP test site: https://syndicatepress.henryranch.net/feed-tests/special-character-tests/

    Problem with Amazon Feed.

Hi, thank you for the great plugin!

After the upgrade from v1.0.29 to v1.0.30 most of my Amazon rss/bestsellers lists do not display any more. It says: “Processed request in 0.01248 seconds“.

Funny enough, 2 out of 10 feeds yes do display.

These two feeds display the bestselling 10 products, but don’t include or convert the Affiliate tag, not in titles, not in image, not in product details, which of course is very, very bad.

I compared with my other sites where I did not upgrade still and the settings are exactly the same and the previous version is working fine.

Did something change? Do I have to set up something different? Can you help me please?

    Hi Maria,
please send the original feed link. Did you look at the feed link after it was saved? Is it the same as it was when you first put it into the feedlist?

I have several sites with Amazon rss product feeds which are still working as expected after the latest SP upgrade.

Thank you for replying so quick.

This is what I put in Syndicate Press > RSS Feeds

    Comics | https://www.amazon.es/gp/rss/bestsellers/digital-text/1335550031/?ie=UTF8&camp=3626&creative=24790&linkCode=ur2&tag=XXXXXXXX-21

This is what I put in the post: [sp# feedList=Comics]

In this example I get the feedlist with the 10 Bestseller, B U T – the tracking link disapears, it does not show the affiliate tag. In the source code it looks like this:

    <p><h5>Comics</h5>
    <div id="itemDiv-feed-0-article-1"><!-- Article GUID: top-sellers_digital-text_1335550031_B009KBEZEW-->

    </div><br>

You see – no &tag=XXXXXXXX-21. It just disppeared. ??

And I tested all links 50 times before I wrote. And yes, all links are the same, or are the same again, after all kind of tests I made.

    Hi Maria,
thanks for testing the links to make sure they stay the same after saving.

I used your Amazon rss link and had the same problem. I noticed that you had a bunch more params that I have never seen used in an Amazon rss link. I removed the extra params and then the Amazon service returns the products links with the tag as expected.

I modified your link to test out 2 different approaches:

    1) Rearranged the params, putting the tag param first:
    https://www.amazon.es/gp/rss/bestsellers/digital-text/1335550031/?tag=XXXXXXXX-21&ie=UTF8&camp=3626&creative=24790&linkCode=ur2

    2) Removed all the extra params, leaving only the tag param:
    https://www.amazon.es/gp/rss/bestsellers/digital-text/1335550031/?tag=XXXXXXXX-21

You can see an example of both of these links working here:
    https://syndicatepress.henryranch.net/feed-tests/amazon-es-test/

The product links returned in the Amazon rss feed are generated by Amazon. SP does not modify the links that are in the feed.

What is different between the failing links that you have and the 2 that you mention still work?

    Best regards,
    SP Developer

The result is the same, stripping and rearranging. However, I build the links in the “Link to Any Page” Link Builder Tool to avoid mistakes. The resulting URL is showing as correct in the Amazon Link Checker.

It must be a problem either of a plugin or the theme, which I updated two days ago. I will deactivate plugins, reinstall the older Version again and keep you informed.

Thank you very much. This you may call “First Class Support”

    Hi Maria,
try not using the link builder tool and putting only the following rss feed url in the rssFeeds box:

It works fine on my test site as shown here: https://syndicatepress.henryranch.net/feed-tests/amazon-es-test/

    Best regards,
    SP Developer

Yes, I tried, but it ended up without any affiliate tags also.
When I finish testing with all plugins and theme versions, I let you know.

It must be some bug on my install, because on the other site everthing works great.

    Thank you very much!

    Ok, great.

If you figure it out, please post your solution or findings. There may be other users who experience a similar issue.

    Have a great day! ??
