@parentinginnky Shareaholic is setup to load asynchronously and hence should not slow anything down. We also use speedy global CDN’s to deliver the service. It may be possible that another plugin may be conflicting with Shareaholic. If you can, try disabling other plugins one by one to see if there may be a conflict.

Slowing only on index page when several items are displayed and therefore more shares

Thank you for your reply. I ran a diagnostic and Sharaholic was 82% of my load time. I have discussed on several blogging boards and most have found the same thing I have and do not use it. It is actually a very common problem. It’s a shame as I really liked this plugin.

    – Is the slowness perceived vs actual as the buttons are loaded AFTER everything else on the page is?

    – Have you tried to turn OFF share counters for index pages? Most of the external requests to render share buttons are to fetch share counts (if you have them turned on) from their respective services (ie. facebook, twitter, pinterest, etc) and can add up to a lot of requests on an index page.

@parentinginnky which diagnostic did you run? Can you please share so we can run a few test pages through it as well. We typically test with Pingdom and Chrome/Firefox consoles. We also monitor worldwide response times very carefully. We care a lot about speed.

Thank you for your response! I used P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler)

I have tried turning off the counters w/ no effect

    Again, thank you!

@parentinginnky There might be something larger going on as we’re unable to replicate any slowness issues. Would you mind either posting a screenshot or emailing us one? [email protected] Thank you!
