Blog entry not showing all. pls. help.

    In one of my blogs, I just wrote a long entry but only a couple of sentences were published! I deleted it and wrote again even using a new title but no luck:( I ended just deleting it because it annoys me. I wrote it using my browser and even the wordpress app on my ipad but it does the same thing. It shows on text the long entry but once I hit published or preview it changed into only couple of sentences and all the other text on that entry just disappear automatically except for excerpt:( pls help. I didn’t post my site because you can’t see the entry anyway since I deleted it. But it kept on happening .

    It sounds like something to do with how your theme is displaying posts. Are you using a custom theme or one of the default WordPress themes?

    Without being able to see your theme files, I would suggest that it sounds as though you have them set to show the excerpt rather than the post. If you are using a custom theme, try a default theme and see if that shows your posts in full.

    If you are using a custom theme… is it only displaying the few lines on BOTH the single page and the index page?

    If so, take a look at the php files which govern those (for example single.php, index.php, home.php, main-page.php) and do a search for <?php the_excerpt(); ?> and replace with <?php the_content(); ?>

    Thanks alicjazurawie- I have the same theme with my other blogs but I modified the theme and the other blogs worked perfectly fine. With this one– before I decided to report, I deactivated all the installed plug-in and then I wrote an entry and clicked preview and it worked! The whole text shows and now I just have to figure out which plug-in was the faulty one. Thank you for your input ^-^
