    Hello

Thanx for developing this plugin… i really like it, but am stuck at the moment with one error that states: File is not compatible with “All In One WP Migration” plugin! Please verify your archive file.

I m running a MacBook Pro with OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 with XAMPP 1.8.3 on it and a simple WordPress 3.8.1 Site.

Question: When I export local, the plugin creates a folder in my download directory. Is this normal behavior? When I zip this with OS X and try to import this file on my Hosting Providers WebServer, the plugin states the error mentioned above.

Any Ideas what i could do to get the export/import working?

For the moment I will try to put the stuff of the folder manually to the server. I hope that i can run the .sql against the db-engine. Then everything would be fine anyway;)

    Hi Alpha,

The file that is placed in your Downloads folder is already archived. You don’t need to zip it. Have you tried importing that file directly without applying anything on it?
    Did it work?

    Hi Yani and Alpha,

I am having the same problem… also on a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.5 and a simple WordPress 3.8.1 site.

When you download a zipped file on a Mac, it automatically extracts it in the Downloads folder, so I’m guessing that Alpha was re-compressing it back into a zip file in order to import it… and I had done the same. Otherwise you just have a folder with the various other folders and files in….(i.e. plugins, themes, media, package.json and database.sql)

Really hoping there is a solution for this – this is the second time I’ve tried to use your plugin and so far, to no success, though it seems to work great for others!

    Hi

Yes that was what I tried first, but it did not work.
Thats why i compressed it to an archive.

What should be the output of the export?
I would expect an archive like “dump-xxxxxxxxxx.zip”, but i receive a folder named “dump-xxxxxxxxxx” in which the content is clearly visible in Finder.

Shall i try to add “.zip” to the name of the folder that was created by the export?
I saw in the video on servmask.com that the export creates
a “dump-xxxxxxxxxx.zip” file, and that does not happen on my installation within XAMPP.

    Hi S43
I was just composing my post, and didn’t read yours first.
    Yes, that’s what I did.

    Regards

I figured as much. This normally works just fine for other downloads and downloaded plugins that you want to upload….

Hope the issue can be solved…
    Fingers crossed……….

    Hi guys,
Sorry to hear about this problem.
I am downloading xamp right now to test it out. Fix is on its way…

Great! Thanks…. I am not using XAMP (as far as I know), but still….

    @s43,
    What is your setup like?
    Apache|nginx?
    php version?

I think I might have found the issue.
What web browser are you using?

    For one site, it’s this:

    Apache version 2.2.25
    PHP version 5.3.27
    MySQL version 5.5.35-cll
    Architecture x86_64
    Operating system linux

But I had the same issue for another site:

    Apache version 2.2.26
    PHP version 5.4.24
    MySQL version 5.5.36-log
    Architecture x86_64
    Operating system linux

    Does this help?

    Safari mostly, but also FireFox

    If you are on Safari,
Go to Safari > Preferences > General and uncheck “Open ‘safe’ files after downloading”
    Then retry exporting your site.

OK, will try it… I’ll keep you posted…

    Thank you guys!!!
As I’am a Mac newbie I didnt check the Safari options.
I will try it later today… but am shure this will help me.
Thanx for your perfect response time!

    Hi Yani,
OK, that did work… at least, it has said that the upload was successful. However, the pages are not all there… the homepage looks good, but none of the other pages are showing up.

Do I just need to re-save the permalinks?
