NextGen Gallery conflict

I had the same problem. Wasn’t able to fix it, but did find a workaround. In YARPP, you need to switch the display option to use “PHP Custom”. The first time you do this, it’ll prompt you to copy over some sample templates. Once you’ve done that, you can use the ‘Simple’ template under PHP Custom, and that seemed to work for me with Next Gen. It looks the same as the “without thumbnails”, except without the score – but I didn’t want that anyway. ??

This workaround doesn′t work, if you want to show an excerpt. It only works for thumbnails.

I’m not sure what the issue is. I do know that when I create my own shortcodes in the functions.php file, they work fine with YARPP excerpts turned on.

I’ve seen other issues that are related to shortcodes and excerpts so other plugins are experiencing this too.
