    Dear community,

does any one know an extension which enables the user to easily insert download files in the backend to the event, so that the download can be referred via a shortcode or similar. Using the file insertion in the event note is not the ideal way for my idea. We would like to link a notice of race, results and similiar as pdf.

If there is no extension, can one develop such an extension on his own? I read something about user created shortcodes and user created upgrades to event manager?

    Best thanks

    Alexander

    Hiya,

Have you tried simply using the standard Add Media functionality? (i.e. top left of the visual editor)

    Thanks

    Hey,

yes surely. But then the formatting has to be done in the editor and is found as a eventsnote content. If not possible otherwise possible this is a bypass solution which works. But then every event manager who creates an event has to follow design rules for the page and format the downloads and titles himself.
Therefore it might be easier to have a common place where to upload several downloads which can be called separately like the date oder the location.

    Thanks

Once your downloadable file is in the WordPress media library you can link to it from anywhere on your site – there’s no need to re-upload for every event.

You could paste the link into the event description, or add the link to your templates.

The use of the library is clear so far.

But I think, that is not the solution I am looking for. I am looking for a solution where the file can be taken from the library and linked via a field. The link shall be put to a shortcode which can be placed to a side bar widget for example. The purpose it to have the same site structure for each event with the same look.

Sure, I could add the download directly for each event manualy. But it would be nice if this works automatically.

Is it a different download for each event or the same each time?
