Exposure Singular not working on posts

    We are using this fine plugin to show different sidebars for each category. There is one sidebar for all content replacing the ‘primary widget area’, and sidebars for each category, that extend the ‘primary widget area’ with category-specific content.

    Each category-sidebar contains a condition group for one specific category. The exposure is set to singular & archive.

    – Exposure = singular & archive
    – Handle = merge primary widget area
    – Position = bottom

    I thougt the exposure is displaying the sidebar on the category page, which works and also on all post pages within that category, which does not work.

    Can you please help me find out to correct settings, if mine are wrong?

    Your settings seem right.

    Do your posts have more than one category each? And can you confirm that the “Primary widget area” also appears in the post template?

    Yes, some posts have more than one category. I tried again several combinations of settings and found a solution. The sidebar replacing the ‘primary widget area’ was the reason for this behaviour.

    When I use the ‘primary widget area’ itself and extend with the category-specific ones, everything works fine.

    I guess, appending to a sidebar that has to be replaced was a confusing logic.
