It's impossible to disable the comment box on static homepage. Tried everything
-
Hello everyone,
This is my first post here and unfourtunatelly it’s about a problem I might. I am pretty sure it’s my fault and I am missing something but I really need help.
My problem is that since yesterday for some reason the comments box appears on my static home page.
If I am not logged in I see the whole thing for making an account in order to post a comment and when I am logged in I can post the comment normally, so evertything normal.
I tried everything I’ve been reading here and in other place as following:
1. Checked the Discusson on Screen Option and the option “Allow comments” is UNCHECKED. I tried to check that, update the page, then uncheck again and update the page, still the comment box is there.
2. I tried the Disable Comments plugin and I checked “Pages” to disable comments on all, the comment box is still there.
3. I tried to manually remove the comment box code. I get a Synatax error and I have to add it again..
4. I check on other comptuer that never accessed my sites after trying these changes and the comment box is still there. I removed WP Super Cache, I tried evertything as far as I know…
And the problem is only on the home page. The other static pages are fine, having the comment box disabled.
Any idea what else should I try? I have no idea how this appeared suddenly. I edited the homepage somehow, but only some text and it appeared.
I have the website for about 2 years, all updates are being made as soon as they come out and never had any problems whatsoever…
Hopefully someone can point me to a direction…
Have a great day guys!
