Please help me with this …

I am trying to get my blog connected to my Facebook fan page I have already created. I went through according to your instruction and got to the point where I need my “App Domain”… but, none of the combination worked, and the “Setting” section of the Facebook developer’s page would not accept any domain name. And when I click the “Authorize Your Facebook Account” link, I get this error message:

Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App’s settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App’s domains.

I tried what I see in the address box for my WP-Admin page: “olivetjournal.com” also “www.olivetjournal.com,” “https://olivetjournal.com,” “https://www.olivetjournal.com”
    Will I need SSL?

The current platform of Facebook developer’s page is different from what you use for the instruction page … I don’t see “Website with Facebook Login” anywhere. Then, I went to “Settings” and found the App Domain box …. just so you know.

So I am not sure where I made a mistake. And, this is my first time dealing with Facebook and app thing … I don’t have any idea what I am doing … Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your reply … I read it and checked it out, and It worked.

But, not without problems … I mention this for the others who may be having the same problem:

Well, interestingly, this time the same App Domain that was rejected multiple times earlier was accepted … hmmm??? I am learning that the Facebook works in mysterious ways ….

Also, the URL needed “/” at the end, in my case. It could be a “?” or something as well for others. The plugin does not indicate that in the suggested URL and App Domain in the Set Up page (upper right corner). The FAQ screenshot has “/” in the example URL.

I appreciate your help, and thank you for the wonderful plugin.

    Hi,
I thought this would help me out, but I get a different error message on the Facebook Developer for my App Domain and I can’t figure out what I need to do.

Here is the error message I get:

This must be derived from Canvas URL, Secure Canvas URL, Unity Binary URL, Site URL, Mobile Site URL, Page Tab URL or Secure Page Tab URL. Check and correct the following domains: cardmaking.today

WordPress/NextScripts settings tell me this is the Domain and URL I should be using:
Please use in your Facebook App:
    URL: https://cardmaking.today
    Domain: cardmaking.today

That Domain matches what is in the above error message – so what am I doing wrong?

    Thank you!

carrs1001 are you sure you entered https://cardmaking.today to the URL field before entering cardmaking.today to the domain field?

that worked! thank you! i must have missed where it said that in the instructions. thanks!
