noop framework download link not shown

    The mechanism to get the noop framework installed is not functional for me, so no admin pages…

    All I see upon install are the instructions for modifying my .htaccess , no link to download noop, nothing else. I though that things had stalled because the plugin was unable to do this, but this step was successfully executed.

    If the framework is a prerequisite for accessing the settings page, rather than have the plugin run with hardwired defaults (which are working), then please, just bundle it! Shipping a plugin that relies on another library in order to function properly, but which cannot get that library, leaves it in limbo.

    Can you just post a link to it please?

    I apologise for the terseness of my original post, I’ve found the link on the plugins list page now; for some reason I had expected to see it on the settings page itself.

    The installation works fine providing the web server user has the privileges to make plugin installs and updates. For users who run WordPress with lesser directory permissions set, there is no manual installation alternative offered here, as there is no download link.

    I was writing my answer when you wrote yours. I put it here for those who will read this later:

    Don’t you have this message?
    Moreover, when you activate the plugin you should also have a message saying you should install Noop.

    Maybe I should improve that. You know, I’m not the kind of guy who likes to bother my users by putting links or popups everywhere, saying “Hey, download my framework, it’s awesome!”. There is a message on installation, a permanent link in the plugins list… Well, I think it’s quite enough (but I can be wrong).
    Indeed, maybe I should add a small link in the settings page, or a message in a future release.

    Hmm… Indeed, I haven’t give a thought about this, about users who can install plugins only manually. I’ll take a closer look. Thanks for your advise.
