Can total subscriber number be displayed?

While that is a feature of Jetpack (for their subscriptions widget), that isn’t part of eNews Extended at this time.

The short answer is the plugin is pretty dumb—it doesn’t authenticate and provide communications two-way between your site and MailChimp’s, so there isn’t a way to pull that data and display it.

Doing more stuff like this is on the very long-term roadmap of things that (frankly) may never happen.

Gary, were you able to find the chiclet on mailchimp? I found the article but wasn’t able to actually find the chiclet. The post is quite old – 2008 – so I wonder if it is still around. Please let me know if you were able to find the chiclets.

As it turns out, Mailchimp offers merge tags instead of this chiclet. I found an article that speaks about the same problem. The plugin author fixed the problem by adding a add a form variable to the plugin. Would this be possible for the enews widget?

At this time, no. The MailChimp plugin authenticates with MailChimp’s system and eNews doesn’t offer that currently.

It’s on the roadmap, but not something I’m actively working on.
