Search form shortcode returns all events

    Hi,

    I’ve got 5.5.2 installed on a test site with minimal other plugins (only the underconstruction plugin). I’ve plugged in the event_search_form shortcode on a page, and when I enter in a query, it returns ALL of the events and does return relevant results. This is regardless of date range or keyword entered.

    Please let me know what I can check. We’ve done some tweaking of the css to allow transition from full calendar view on full screens to list view on mobile devices. I don’t think anything with any php files, but I can double check with our coder on that.

    Any ideas? I don’t see this listed as an issue when I search, so I’m sure it works as designed for most everyone.

    are you using events list groupings? and can you try to disable that to see if it works?

    Hi Angelo,

    Thanks for your reply. I went to Settings->Formatting tab->Events section and set “Events Page Grouping” to “None”. Still no change. Please let me know if this is the setting you were referring to.

    FYI – Under the Pages tab -> Events List Archive section, the “Events Page” is set to [No Events Page] as we are using shortcode on a regular page to allow our mobile responsiveness, and don’t want any kind of response to return to a preformatted page.

    I see, are you also using search form shortcode? if yes, can you try [event_search_form ajax=1] ?

    That worked! Thank you. The shortcode I was using before was without ajax=1

    FYI I think the results were returning zero results and displaying the full archive, which I now realize I was confusing for all of the events.
