It would be better to append the license and other attribution fields to any caption — before or after it — than simply wipe it out. Not being able to do this makes the plugin unusable for me ion a lot of situations.

It would also be nice to be able to link the license info fields so all media with the same attributes can be pulled up easily in an archive listing.

The table listing all credits is very nice, but it would make more sense built into the WP backend.

    Hi Dan,

Thank you for your suggestion. We proud to tell you that with v0.9.15 we’ve introduced additional placeholders for the copyright format: ‘title’ and ‘caption’.
You can use these to access standard media attributes.

    Hi, great plugin!

Not sure if is already included, but here is a suggestion: can the Copyright info be read from the EXIF data of the uploaded photos? That would save a lot of time and errors. Of course not all photos have this, but when available, it should be used.

Also I am a bit hesitant to use it because of all the warnings on the plugin page. There is no point making all this effort on a test-site only :). So I hope it can be a bit more stable or more separate from the standard tables, so that enabling and disabling the plugin has zero net effect on any WP site.

    Thanks!

    Hi Bike,

Thank you for this great idea!
We’ll implement EXIF data retrieval as soon as possible.

Regarding “all the warnings on the plugin page” and “it can be a bit more stable or more separate from the standard tables” we didn’t really got your point.

Could you please explain it a bit:
    – where do you see warnings
    – which warnings
    – etc.

PS: We’ll mark this thread as unresolved.

The new %caption% placeholder is great, however it currently uses the “caption” configured in the Media library itself. Which is fine in some cases, however sometimes you want to you use the [caption ... caption='something different'] shortcode to specify a different caption in a post/page.

Any chance it could support both media library captions and inline captions?

    Hi ramblurr,

Thank you for your suggestion – very good idea. We proud to tell you that with v0.9.16 we’ve introduced additional attribute ‘text’ to the standard WordPress caption tag.

Now you can use this attribute to override image caption.
