[Moderator note: Topic title de-capped. Please do not shout at us. The topic title was also amended. Your problem is no more urgent than anyone else’s.]

within wordpress, thekovalgroup.com was our main website, but today we wanted to change it to dts-ppm.com (DTS). In the wordpress backend, there was a “site url” field, and me, being an idiot changed the url in this field to dts-ppm.com but hadn’t changed any a records or cnames anywhere and now it’s broken. when i got the error after i changed it on the field, i changed it BACK to thekovalgroup.com and saved it again, but that didn’t seem to have worked.

Now i cant even get into the wp-admin b/c it’s redirecting and shouldn’t be.

How do i fix this? NO CNames or A Records have been changed in the dts-ppm.com to point to WordPress.

  • Change the urls back. See Changing_The_Site_URL for details of how to do this correctly without logging in.

where are those php files hosted though? on the koval domain? All that on that link you sent is foreign to me

Esmi, I followed the instructions on the “edit functions.php” section and was able to get the login screen to come up. However, now the main page (thekovalgroup.com) has a “This webpage has a redirect loop” error and the login credentials and login function will not work to log me in to the site. What would you recommend I do now?

Has anything been changed at the server end with regard to DNS etc?

No, no records have been changed in either DNS panel

Would you be able to tell me what they should look like so I can verify? prior to me changing it in the field in WordPress, the DTS-PPM page was a dead link and didn’t go anywhere

Sorry. You would need to speak to your hosts about this.
