Magnification Effect in Header Slideshow?

I’m attempting to integrate a bit of code I purchased for a js magnification effect with the slideshow in a theme I purchased. I have the site set up with an Under Construction plugin, so you can’t view it unless you’re logged in, so I won’t put the URL of the site itself here.

I have also attempted to just use a shortcode based magnification plugin that I downloaded from WordPress, but the shortcode isn’t interpreted properly when I place it in the slideshow. It just shows up as [shortcode text] in each slide. I am open to swapping out the slideshow or doing whatever I have to in order to get the magnification effect working on each individual slide.
